Role Overview

We are seeking a Lab Assistant to join our busy testing laboratory at Starcross. In this role, you will deliver straightforward tasks and provide vital technical and scientific support to laboratory staff, ensuring smooth operations and positive environmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Support: Assist all sections of the laboratory with day-to-day activities.
• Logistics: Handle deliveries, prepare and order sample bottles, and manage sample disposal.
• Maintenance: Clean laboratory glassware and conduct routine equipment checks.
• Facilities: Manage waste collections and assist other operational work groups as required.
• Administration: Perform general administrative tasks and occasional visitor reception duties.
• Safety: Strictly comply with health and safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Candidate Requirements

Essential Skills

• Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in using various IT systems (training provided).
• Must live locally to Starcross and have a reliable commute.

Desirable Experience

• A background in science or previous experience as a lab assistant is helpful, but not essential as full training will be provided.
